Martial Geoffre-Rouland
Martial Geoffre-Rouland is a French interactive designer, residing in Lyon, founder of the interactive design studio screen-club. With a diploma from Elisava Barcelona, Higher School of Design and Engineering, his work revolves around digital art and new technologies. A jack of all trades, his projects emerge from collaborations with agencies, artists, independent studios, graphic designers, and companies, in fields as diverse as web, digital installations, or scenography. Since 2009, he has been conducting workshops and lectures in France and Europe on both technical and theoretical subjects, aiding participants in unlocking the digital potential and the language of code across various practices like visuals, sound, or data visualization. He is a member of the Graffiti Research Lab France. Additionally, he has been an artist in residency at Google Arts &amp; Culture Lab since 2020.
Gael Hugo
Gaël Hugo is a swiss interactive designer settled in Paris in 2005, where he founded &#8220;one more studio&#8221; a few years later. His design practice aims to reflect the blurry boundaries of visual communication in a digital age. Gaël Hugo likes to produce dedicated design solutions relayed by – in his own words – dubious self­-made tools to achieve unexpected visual experiences. This experimental and playful approach allowed him to work with musicians, cultural institutions as well as with artists, designers or commercial brands. Gaël Hugo is now a regular artist in residence at Google Arts &amp; Culture in Paris since 2015 where he specialized in using machine learning in creative ways and also teaches interaction design at ECAL University of art and design in Lausanne since 2006.

The workshop is hosted by Martial Geoffre-Rouland and Gaël Hugo, both of whom are artists-in-residence at the Google Arts &amp; Culture Lab. In this interactive session, we will guide participants through methods for rapid prototyping of interactive projects that combine web technologies, machine learning, and open-source frameworks. 
These hands-on projects aim to help attendees quickly build prototypes that incorporate computer vision techniques, like tracking and shape segmentation, as well as image generation capabilities.
Prerequisites for Participants
Participants should have basic skills in web development and a keen interest in JavaScript to fully engage with the workshop&#8217;s interactive elements. Each participant must come with a laptop with a webcam. A working web environment must be set up on each participant&#8217;s laptop.

Vincent Brault holds a Master&#8217;s degree in Arts, Creation and Technology from the Université de Montréal, and is pursuing a practice in digital audiovisual creation. As immersive video lead for the Society for Arts and Technology&#8217;s dome, he uses his expertise to provide technical support to artists in residencies, teach courses and carry out various immersive, interactive and innovative projects.

This workshop explores how new technologies have transformed traditional forms of storytelling, and proposes solutions for effectively scripting immersive experiences.
By examining the characteristics and devices of immersive art, participants will learn how to design captivating narrative architectures and use interactivity to create engaging experiences. This workshop also offers tools for ideation, design and prototyping, enabling participants to bring their concepts to life in immersive art and digital media.

Étienne Mineur, born in 1968, is a French designer and publisher specializing in interactive graphics. After graduating from ENSAD in 1992, he launched his career in cultural CD-ROM, collaborating with Index+, Nofrontiere and Hyptique. His expertise attracted prestigious brands such as Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel. In 2009, he founded Volumique, focusing on the design of physical objects. More recently, he has been exploring design related to generative artificial intelligence, with projects such as a show for the city of Orange. Since 2021, he has been training through workshops and conferences on AI. He heads up a studio at ENSCI and gives workshops at various schools, including École Camondo and HEAD in Geneva.

Artificial intelligence, which simulates human intelligence, has recently made significant advances thanks to Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Today, these &#8220;intelligences&#8221; are surpassing humans in many fields, although they are totally lacking in morals and ethics. Generative AI, capable of creating seemingly original content, is therefore revolutionizing various sectors, including the graphic arts.
This experimental workshop is designed to explore the use of AI responsibly in the graphic arts, discovering how it can help develop new ideas and forms, and enhance the creative process.
